Not that it really matters to you all that much, but a little infomation about my laser will help you understand what it will and won't do. My laser is a Thunder Nova 35/80. It is a CO2 fired laser that is water cooled. Any item to be lasered will have to be less than ~35"W x ~24"L x ~9"H. It will cut most wood up to ~5/8" thick, and acrylic up to about 1/2" thick. It will also cut paper, leather, leatherette, non-PVC plastic and cardboard. It will engrave on wood, slate, cork, glass, acrylic, leather, leatherette, coated tumblers and coated brass plates. It will NOT CUT any metal, but with the application of a titanium dioxide (TiO2) compound, it will PERMANENTLY mark most metal. A good example of marked metal is on the stainless steel (non-powder coated) tumblers. On these tumblers, the "engraving" looks black...that is the permanent marking that results from the laser burning the TiO2 into the metal.
